The Impact of Racism and Bias in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Psychosis

2:00-3:00 p.m. ET /1:00-2:00 p.m. CT / 12:00-1:00 p.m. MT / 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. PT / 10:00-11:00 a.m. AKT / 8:00-9:00 a.m. HT/

DESCRIPTION
The history of racism in America has created biases that influence the diagnosis and treatment of psychosis, creating clear disparities in psychiatric care between white and minority populations. Participants will explore this history and learn about how systemic changes in our approach to the diagnosis of psychosis, including screening and identification of the clinical high risk state, can reduce disparities for more equitable treatment.
