Families Thrive Training

DESCRIPTION
Developed by the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP), Families Thrive™ training identifies and provides practical strategies for applying the protective and promotive factors that have been shown to support health, well-being, and thriving across childhood into young adulthood. Families Thrive brings together the latest research on child development, brain biology, and the impact of trauma on development. Presented over the course of five days, each three-hour session will focus on one of the five primary protective and promotive factors: knowledge of child development, social connections, cognitive & social/emotional competence, concrete supports in times of need, and resilience.
This training will be limited to 45 participants. Please note that applications will close at 11:59pm CST on Friday, July 15. Individuals who are selected to receive this training will by notified by Monday, July 18.
DATES
All sessions will be:
6-9 p.m. ET / 5-8 p.m. CT / 4-7 p.m. MT / 3-6 p.m. PT / 2-5 p.m. AKT / 12-3 p.m. HT
- July 28 • Session 1: Introduction and Adolescent Development
- August 8 • Session 2: Social Connections
- August 22 • Session 3: Cognitive and Social Emotional Competence
- September 4 • Session 4: Concrete Supports in Times of Need
- September 19 • Session 5: Youth Resilience and Course Wrap Up
