Community of Practice for Early Care Education (ECE) Program Leaders Focusing on Peer Support and Strategies to Create Communities of Staff Wellness

3:00-4:00 p.m. ET / 2:00-3:00 p.m. CT / 1:00-2:00p.m. MT / 12:00-1:00 p.m. PT

DESCRIPTION
Early Care Education (ECE) programs and staff have experienced tremendous challenges and stress over the last year. Navigating grief, loss, racial injustice, and health disparities have impacted the ECE community especially hard. Programs across the country are in various operating stages, but all are facing similar challenges of how to operate safely and attend to staff wellness. In order to support others in our system of care, we have to attend to our own self-care in all aspects of our lives. This series will focus on thriving across contexts, including personal, familial, and professional in order to better serve children and families.

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for ECE program leaders and staff. We will hold space to come together for a Community of Practice to collectively learn about how to support staff and create opportunities for success. We will be joined by experts in the field to offer strategies, resources, and ideas and will learn from each other how to build a holistic plan for thriving. Participants will have the opportunity to process what has been difficult about this time and will leave with tools and a sense of community that are the basis of building and sustaining early childhood systems of care.

GENERAL SESSION TOPICS:

  • Introduction to self-care
  • Self-care and families of infants, toddlers and young children
  • Self-care in ECE workplaces
  • Self-care in communities and systems
